Bimanual and recto-vaginal examinations were next carried out. The anterior wall of the vagina was very much elongated and the external os uteri was felt high up and with great difficulty. The posterior wall was however, bulging forward, was short and the posterior fornix was obliterated. The fundus uteri was not palpable anteriorly.
